- Him: Okay, look. I'm skipping the small talk and telling you straight out. I miss you. I miss you more than anything. I miss everything about you. I miss your hugs that gave me butterflies, I miss how I'm always smiling around you, I miss how happy you made me. You have no idea how much it kills me to pass you in the hallway and have nothing to say to you. I know I hurt you. I know you hurt yourself. I wish we could just forget about what happened. I wish you didn't have those scars. I cried when I found out I did that to you. When I said I wanted to be single, I didn't realize I was losing the best thing that has ever happened to me. I don't want to be without you. You're not like other girls. You're different, a good different. I think that's why I'm so in love with you. You're beautiful. Even if you don't know it. You probably don't trust me anymore in a relationship, but I'll try my hardest never to make you cry. I will never take you for granted like I did. It was worth a try for me to tell this to you. Maybe you still want time to yourself, or maybe you'll never want me again. No matter what, I'll understand. I know I won't get you back that easily. I'll always be here. I'll always want you. I'll always love you. And I would climb a mountain just to show you how much you mean to me.

Why I love neuroscience, again.
Norepinephrine - A substance, both hormone and neurotransmitter, secreted by the adrenal medulla and the nerve endings of the sympathetic neurosystem to cause vasoconstriction and increases in heart rate, blood pressure, and the sugar level of blood.
Neurotransmitter - Chemical messages that cross the synaptic gaps betwen neurons. When released by the sending neuron, they travel across the synapse and bind to receptor sites on the receiving neuron, thereby influencing whether that neuron will generate a neural impulse.
Synaptic gap (cleft) - The minute gap between presynaptic cells and postsynaptic cells in a chemical synapse, across which the neurotransmitters diffuse.
Synapse - The junction between the axon tip of the sending neuron and the dendrite or cell body of the receiving neuron.
Axon - The extension of a neuron, ending in branching terminal fibers, throuch which messages pass to other neurons to muscles or glands.
Neuron - A nerve cell, the basic building block of the nervous system.
Receptor site - Located on a cell’s surface which interacts with cellular components.

Epinephrine (adrenalin) - A catecholamine hormone of the adrenal medulla that is the most potent stimulant of the sympathetic nervous system.
Sympathetic nervous system - The division of the autonomic nervous system that arouses the body mobilizing its energy.
Nervous system - The body’s speedy electro-chemical communication network, consisting of all the nerve cells of the peripheral and central nervous system.
Central nervous system - The brain and the spinal cord.
Peripheral nervous system - The sensory and motor neurons that connect the central nervous system to the rest of the body.
